Today I wanted to do something a little different. These pictures are one of the first photo shoots I did for BNB styling and when I wanted to start the blog. I wanted to touch on a few things today about myself and then a topic about inner and outer beauty which I am guest posting about on another blog pretty soon. As you know I live in Houston and am a native Houstonian who went to school in Nacogdoches at SFA. Growing up I was always in a leadership position, loved doing community service and also events, fashion, and the business side as well. I went to college and joined a sorority which was the best decision and eventually became president. I switched my major 3 times and graduated in Hospitality where I was going to pursue my career as an event planner. Sometimes life takes you in funny directions and I actually ended up at a energy and utility company here working in IT as a business resilience planner. I never thought I would be doing this but love it so much and it has taught me a lot about myself. Ever since I have been here for 3 years I always thought I need to be doing something creative as well, so that is when I launched the online boutique on the side and then to where I am now with the blog. This seemed more like my niche in conjunction with my IT job. I have loved it ever since and have met so many amazing people and have had great opportunities. At the end of July it will be a year since I have been blogging. I love everything about it and sometimes it can be hard, especially having a full time job or getting that perfect picture. I have grown to realize that you have to just be yourself and rock your own style and if people like it well then great! My favorite part of blogging is giving others inspiration and making connections! From every staged pretty picture whether that is your meal for the night strategically place, or your outfit layed out with a white background of course, it all comes down to what is beauty.

Beauty to me is such a hard word to describe. So many people view beauty as looks alone. They describe celebrities wearing different fashions, a blossoming flower or even the latest designer handbag as beautiful. In our society we are prone to view everyone based on how they look first. Within the first few seconds we already have made up our minds if we think they are beautiful. This portrayal of outer beauty is also made known throughout social media as well. With being a fashion blogger, looks are something that I post a lot about on a weekly if not daily basis. We can get so consumed on grabbing the latest handbag or taking the perfectly staged photo that we forget what true beauty really is. For me I like to keep up with trends and of course I love fashion, but that is only the outer layer.

Women need to realize that they have to stay true to themselves. I love providing an outlet where people can head to my blog and hear real thoughts about my opinions on styling different looks at every price point. I think as women in this world the pressure to always look your best is high. I think if you are not happy within yourself, any designer outfit will not look great on you. For me beauty is more than just looks and confidence. I think it is the experiences you go through where you achieve the inner beauty which is the core to beauty as a whole. Just like how a butterfly goes through lots of changes to become beautiful and get it’s wings, so do we.

Beauty all starts from within, and being true to yourself and having character is where your true beauty shines. We have all been through changes and experiences that have shaped who we are as individuals. These adventures from within our life radiate beauty out. When you have this self confidence it shines throughout. This in turn shows the true beauty. Inner and outer beauty go together. Just like a butterfly can’t see its wings, everyone else sees its beauty and its the changes that got you there from within.
