Happy first day of fall ya’ll! If you didn’t know that it was the first day of fall well you will probably know soon because every girl will be posting about it on social media. If you weren’t already ordering your #basic pumpkin spice latte, well now it won’t feel as bad since it is officially the start of fall. Here in Houston I am mentally in the fall mindset, but the weather is anything but crisp yet. This weekend I plan on attempting to get the fall decorations out and at least light some pumpkin scented candles too. One of my favorite things about fall which I mentioned in this post is getting some new clothes whether they are sweaters, booties, or a fun tweed skirt like I am wearing here. Tweed is one of those fabrics that just screams cooler weather because the fabric is so warm. Now when I first think of tweed I think of pieces that business people wore in the 80’s, but it has transitioned to so much more than that, and tweed is super trendy now. I spotted this tweed skirt and thought the ruffle layers were just the right combination of girly meets a little funk. You know I like a solid black outfit with pattern like you saw with this floral 2 piece outfit. What I love to do with outfits lately is not only pattern mix, but mix fabrics as well.

I have said before that leopard is considered a neutral in my opinion, but I also think fur goes with everything as well. This outfit is one that I think is so fun to wear for a girls night in the fall/winter. I think taking risks with other patterns and fabrics is so much fun to try. I have incorporated this embellishment into my outfit before in my fall date ideas post and will continue to wear it this season too. Adding a touch of tweed in your outfit can transform a whole new look. I like that this skirt is the perfect length and gives a classic look an updated edgy look when paired with my booties and belt. It is all about adding the correct accessories to transition from summer to fall with your outfit. If you want to update your outfit for the fall I would add some tweed to bring in a whole new look. I hope you all have a great first day of fall!
