I am finally getting around to posting about my favorite activity and look we did in Charleston. This was at the Boone Hall Plantation when we had our last full day in this amazing city. We had walked and explored the other day, but had to check out this plantation if you saw my Charleston travel guide. This plantation had been on my mom and my bucket list for a while not only because our last name is Boone, but because the Notebook was filmed here and that is our favorite movie. It was about a 20 minute uber ride out of the downtown historical area where we were staying to this beautiful plantation and gardens. I am so glad we went in May because even during that time it was getting to feel a little too hot there, so I can only imagine how August would feel. You can spend hours walking the grounds of the plantation and getting a tour of the house as well. My favorite part was learning about the history. I used to hate going on tours and visiting historical sites when I was younger, but as I have gotten older I find it now so interesting. My other favorite part was the little water area where Noah and Allie in the Notebook filmed the boat scene which I thought was just the coolest thing!

Since we were walking all day, I wanted to wear something that would be comfortable. During the warmer months I find that that works best with a maxi dress. These are the kinds of dresses I feel like you can wear all year long and they can be long sleeve or off the shoulder like this dress. I have been drawn to the color blue and I feel like that is what is currently in all of the stores right now. Between gingham and light denim, a light blue color is for sure popular right now. I also love the embroidery on this dress. This is another detail that is on everything right now including denim jackets and denim skirts. It just gives that extra detail that will make the whole outfit come together. If you are going to be walking anywhere when the sun is out, can’t forget what my mom always tells me and that is to wear a hat. I have had this straw hat for a couple of years now and find that it goes with everything and is cute enough to want to keep it on for long hours. If you ever go to Charleston you must stop at this plantation and have a little fun exploring.
