That old saying of April showers bring May flowers has sure been on my radar lately. I am so glad it is May and the start to a fun month ahead. Everywhere I have been looking I have been seeing pretty colors and fabrics. You know I love my gingham during this time of year and anything off the shoulder has been a hit, but I can’t forget about my florals too. During this time of year floral is everywhere between dresses, tops, skirts, and even outdoor entertaining sets. This is a print that is classic and will go all the way until about September at least here in Houston it seems like. Over the weekend when I went to Nacogdoches I went to some very cute boutiques and got lots of clothes that had flower embroidery detail and tops that had great billowy sleeves. Between all of the floral that we all probably have in our closet, the one thing I like about it is it never goes out of style. I have worn this top with so much in the last year with a pencil skirt to work, and then more commonly with some ripped skinnies like these. Having trendy pieces is important, but having a top that can go with everything and never go out of style is even more important.

I am starting to get all of my clothes together for Charleston this weekend. I can’t wait for our mother/daughter trip to begin on this special Mother’s Day weekend! I can’t wait to be strolling through the historic area and looking at all of the pretty houses on rainbow row. I have never been there during May so I am anxious to see all of the pretty May flowers. We have a few things lined up, but mainly it is going to involve walking, shopping and eating. Who doesn’t love all of those things. I will for sure be bringing some florals along for the trip and also some comfy shoes to wear as well. This is one of my favorite little towns and I am so excited to share it with my mom for her first time. If you haven’t seen my mother/daughter trip ideas make sure you do and maybe even surprise your mom for a special Mothers Day surprise!
