Today at work our campaign kicked off for United Way. This is one of the biggest organizations we support at my company. I am one of the campaign drive leaders in my department this year, and couldn’t be more excited. To kick off the campaign I thought I would incorporate food since that tends to draw in the crowds. What better way to do this than a waffle station. The waffle station was a crowd pleaser for sure. I am not creative and my handwriting is like a first grader, but this was a success. First I lined the tables with butcher paper and wrote the steps out including get a waffle, add a spread, fruit and topping. After I made lots of waffles the crowds started coming. They loved all of the different toppings ranging from healthy options to sweet Nutella. This was a great kick off for the employees to learn more about the non-profit organization and ways they can help donate and get involved. I think it is very important to raise awareness and help transform lives with individuals throughout our community. I was able to provide a little fact sheet to them as they got their waffles. Everyone loved this idea of coming to work while getting to eat some great food and raising awareness.
