What to Wear to Dressy Winter Events

Happy Friday everyone! How has everyone’s week been going so far? I don’t know about you but I am so ready for the weekend finally. I will be studying a lot, but also get to meet up with friends for a Friendsgiving and also to watch Home Alone tonight outdoors which should be fun. If you haven’t already thought about what to wear to Thanksgiving yet, I would take a look at this post for a dressier look or stick with a casual jeans look. Whether you are having a casual family get together for Thanksgiving or not, I am sure you are invited to at least 1 holiday party or perhaps a wedding this winter. When I took a poll on Instagram stories last week this was one of the posts that you were almost 100% in favor for me to do a post about. This topic of what to wear to a dressy winter event like a Christmas party or wedding was on everyone’s mind. I know that I already have a work Christmas party coming up the first week of December. This type of event calls for a dressier look when you are thinking of what to wear. Now if it says “black tie” or “black tie optional” then girl you just gotta go with a floor length dress. I have only probably been to 2 events that had this dress code though. When we think of weddings or any type of dressy winter event we automatically think of a little black dress. Those are great to wear to weddings as I mentioned in this post, but lately I am much more about a dressier jumpsuit.

I feel like jumpsuits have been very popular over the last 2 years, and now they aren’t just meant for spring/summer time either. Last year is when I first wore a dressy black jumpsuit that was cropped during this time of year, and I received so many compliments. I have had a lot of friends ask me if a jumpsuit was appropriate for a wedding or a dressier type of event, and my answer is always absolutely yes. I think we hesitate because they aren’t as common as dresses, but hey at least they are better than the classic pants suit that business women often wear. What makes this jumpsuit perfect for all of those dressier type of winter events is the black lace. This type of fabric makes anything 10 times more dressy. Also it is all about the length and the cut of the look. I like this a lot more than the cropped jumpsuit last year because it is just more elegant with the length going to your ankles. Also the off the shoulder neckline gives it a flirty edge. We for sure are still seeing this trend all throughout the winter months as well. When you mix all of these combinations then you have a great holiday look. When thinking of what to wear during these dressy winter events think of opting for a jumpsuit like this. You need to just make sure the fabric is very high quality and that the cut and neckline are something that you feel comfortable in.
