25th birthday cocktail party

25th Birthday Cocktail Party

On Saturday night I had my cocktail party with my friends to celebrate my 25th birthday! It was a total blast and extra girly and chic like I had envisioned. I made a couple of appetizers which included caprese bites, cucumbers with hummus, bacon wrapped sausages, spinach and artichoke dip, and pretzels. The popcorn bar was a fun little set up with 3 different flavors and cute little boxes to put the popcorn in. I found some awesome sequin fabric which I used for the table cloth. It transformed the whole kitchen area into a glitzy glam affair. The background for pictures was pieces of fabric cut into strips and then the gold glittery signs were cut out with gold glitter card stock paper. No party can be complete without paper tissue balls of course. These are the easiest party item to make that take about 10 minutes. You can reuse them again just make sure to fluff them up. The “Time to Drink Champagne and Dance on the Table” sign was made from printing off a sign and gluing it on a posterboard and adding sequins all around it.

The desserts were funfetti cupcakes, macarons and cotton candy. The little take home treats for my friends were my favorite. I filled little bags with cotton candy and put a cute label I made on them. The drinks of the night were a whisky punch I made that had whiskey, lemon and orange juice, grenadine, and angostura bitters in it. This was a strong and tasty drink that was the hit of the night. Lots of bubbly and some wine were also on the drink menu. I found these cute straws that had bow ties on them and thought they would go perfect for the party!

The girls wore sequins and the boys wore bow ties. I figured it was the perfect excuse to dress up and party! I was in love with my gold sequin dress and will get so many uses out of it. It is the perfect classy fit and the sequins are so much fun! We had to take lots of pictures with some fun props of course. Who doesn’t love a little photo sesh? I had such a great time and loved the idea of a cocktail party with some of your friends instead of the traditional dinner. It was a fabulous weekend and I am so excited to have celebrated it with some of my favorites 🙂

The "Time to Drink Champagne and Dance on the Table" sign what type of paper did you use to print it on? What glue was used for the sequins?

Hey girl I just printed the sign off on regular computer printer paper big and then glued/modge podged it on to a poster board. I modge podged/used Elmer's glue for the sequins 🙂
