It is officially a lot colder than I thought it would be during this time of the year. I am waking up this morning to it being in the high 20’s. Wait is this Houston we are in? I feel like I am starting to get a little cold and a runny nose just like what everyone else has right now, which is never a good thing. What I have been trying to do since this past weekend when it started to get cold, is to bundle up with lots of layers during this time of year. The weather being this cold reminds me of New York when I was visiting 2 years ago. My roommate and I would walk down 5th Avenue and immediately would have to go walk into a store just to get out of the freezing windy temperatures for just half a minute. When I have originally thought of winter clothing I have also thought of big bulky fabrics and that can sometimes not be the most flattering. This was probably the fact that when I went to Breckenridge a couple of years ago and felt like since I was wearing so many layers I didn’t feel cute at all. The beanie with the cute little poof on it had not been as popular as it has been recently either.

In the winter time I love to bundle up with my faux fur jackets and some easy jeans. There is always something glam about this amazing material that makes you want to wear it all season long. Faux fur can only go with some occasions and it won’t personally be my first thing I grab when I am looking for an all bundled up look. That is when I reach for my favorite sweater, beanie, and over the knee boots. I am so glad that everyone for the most part has at least one pair of over the knee boots. These are personally my favorite type of shoes to wear during this season and can be so fashionable and comfortable too. When I think of a look to wear during these cold winter temperatures of course I gravitate towards warmer fabrics like this knitted sweater and beanie. My mom knits and I have so many of her scarfs and beanies that she has made for me. It is always so special to be wearing them, and it just comforts my heart a little more. These she did not make, but I love the neutral colors and wear them just as much. It is always good to go back with the classics during this time of year when all you want to do is bundle up 🙂
