Happy Friday everyone! I am super excited that it is Friday because that means that it is officially my birthday weekend!!! If you know me then you know that I love to celebrate all weekend long. My actual birthday is not until Monday, but I will be celebrating with some of my closest friends tonight and tomorrow. We will be trying this new restaurant that I have been wanting to try tonight, and then tomorrow will be a casual outdoor day at my favorite pub. It seems like just yesterday I was celebrating my birthday last year. This year has seriously gone by way too fast and it is so hard to believe it is already coming to an end. I have picked out what I am going to wear this weekend and it all involves classic neutrals. The weather is still in the high 80’s so that makes it sometimes more difficult to just switch your wardrobe here in Houston to sweaters. I am slowly bringing out my fall pieces, but keeping to some of my favorite summer pieces too. What is so important during this time of transition is trying to keep everything to classic neutrals. I think the one thing that can determine what season you are dressing for has to do with fabric, but more importantly the colors. If you are wearing classic neutral colors then the transition from summer to fall is going to be much more seamless.

One item that I always like to bring out during the fall are felt floppy hats. Other than booties and over the knee boots, these to me are the best fall and winter accessory. I have worn this hat with so much from wearing it in the summer with denim shorts or paired here with my favorite black outfit pieces. I find myself wearing a uniform very similar to this on the weekends for dinner with friends and even to work. There is something so classic about an all black look with camel color accessories. Not to mention that these Elaine Turner shoes are probably one of the most comfortable pairs I own. Comfort is so important to me and especially since I don’t wear heels as often as I used to. These are great to wear right now and through the next couple of weeks as they go with everything. They bring in the fall with the suede and my favorite neutral color of camel. Do you have any neutral pieces that you love for this time of year?
