TGIF everyone! I am so glad that it is Friday and the start to a holiday weekend. Even though for me it was just a 4 day week because I was sick on Monday, it seemed to last forever. Did anyone else feel that same way? I am so looking forward to the weekend and to relax. If you saw my red, white and blue post you know that I still do not have plans for this weekend and I am alright with that. Sometimes all you need is a good weekend to eat, drink and just hang out with friends. You never know with this weather and what it could do at any given time, but for right now I am thinking the pool is for sure part of my plans. One area I have been really loving lately is downtown. I work downtown now as I have mentioned in this post, but going down there to explore and eat and drink is something that transforms the usual work environment to a whole new social scene. Granted our downtown is not as hopping as other cities, but it sure is trying to be. Lately a lot of my friends and co-workers want to go there for dinner or a casual drink. There are lots of outdoor patio areas too. If it is not during the work week I immediately switch into an outfit like this for a more downtown casual look.

I have been living in this top lately on the weekends because I love how delicate and girly it is. Just how I mentioned earlier this week with my embroidered romper post, embroidery on everything is in full force. It continued from Cinco de Mayo and has not slowed down since. This is one of those details that always is great for the summer months. It adds a little extra to an otherwise basic look. I don’t know if you would call this top basic though because of these amazing sleeves. I mean lately if a top has ruffled sleeves or its off the shoulder, I am pretty much buying it. Since I haven’t bought any cute shorts yet I am still living in either denim shorts or my favorite ripped skinnies. These are getting pretty hot during this time of year, but still make this downtown look a little more casual. Something that is classic but updated with fun and colorful accessories is always a winning look in my opinion. I hope you all have a safe and fun July 4th weekend. As always follow along on social media throughout.
