How was everyone’s weekend? I don’t even feel like I know what day it is because I have been sick with a stomach bug/food poisoning the whole weekend. It happened after my friend and I had dinner on Friday night. I am just now starting to feel a little better, but had to stay home from work to get to feeling a 100% better. Now I am for sure looking forward to the upcoming holiday weekend that is not spent being sick in bed. If you saw my post from Friday you saw this red, white & blue look that is on my radar for this upcoming weekend. I am thinking a casual pool day with some friends sounds about right. One of my favorite outfits to wear during this time of year has got to be overalls or a romper. There is something about them being so easy to throw on and whatever summer activity you are doing whether it is being by the pool or grilling with your family, these pieces work. I always have my stash of rompers that I tend to recycle every year. Rompers to me can even go into the fall and winter at least here in Texas if you pair them with some knee high boots. A classic black and white embroidered romper seems like a Texas summer staple to me.

With all of the embroidered fashion pieces that are out in the stores right now, I think it is safe to say that a romper with this detailing caught my eye. What I like about this romper is the exposed shoulder sleeves. When I see rompers or dresses I typically like something to be a little unexpected and fun out of them in order to make them unique. Just like the sleeves in this gingham top, an unexpected little detail makes the whole outfit stand out. I wanted to keep this outfit very neutral with the black and tan. This look is for sure more laid back and I could see it being worn on a fun trip to Austin sometime. I am looking to do a girls road trip to Marfa, TX in the future where I feel like this would also be very cute. Have any of yall been before, need your insider tips!
