Good morning, I was in Chicago all weekend attending the Blog Societies Conference for the 3rd time. I learned so much information that I can’t wait to share it with you. My favorite part about attending this conference is connecting with the other fellow bloggers. I think collaboration over competition is so important in this industry. Bouncing ideas off of each other and getting advice from one another is so helpful in order to succeed. Between attending great workshops about SEO, photography, Pinterest, and meeting with some amazing brands, I also went around and explored the city a little. One little item I was not ready for was the weather. It was so much cooler in August than it is in Houston. When I was walking around and even going to lunch on one of the days I was thinking how my outfit could transition from summer to fall.

Mix and Match Your Summer/Fall Pieces

One thing that helps when transitioning your outfit from summer to fall is mixing your summer and fall pieces together so that you are making the most out of your outfit. I spotted these Elaine Turner wedges the other week and knew that they would work well from summer and then going into fall. These are the shoes that I wore all weekend long in Chicago. I like how they are still wedges, but they are calfskin leather which is such a luxe fabric when it gets to the cooler months. Not to mention the color of these wedges in camel is my favorite. This top came in last week and I loved the little bows on the arms. It is long sleeve and pretty neutral enough that you can drape over a leather jacket similar to what I did here and you have a fall look. Another fun piece to this look was this cork round bag that is also Elaine Turner that I had to have. I thought that it transitioned perfectly from summer to fall because of the metallic mixed with the snakeskin cork. These are two different prints mixed into one for a seamless look.

Stick to the Neutrals

When you are looking through your closet on pieces to wear from summer to fall, I think sticking to the neutrals is key. I like how this look paired simply with a blue striped top and jeans with the camel accessories. We all know that I love these kind of neutrals like when I paired them in this fall look. If you were to wear bright color accessories with this look it would scream summer too much. After shopping the last couple of weeks I have found myself sticking to more neutrals where I can mix and match to create a whole new look. This is also great for your wallet because you aren’t necessarily buying the most trendy items at the time. You could even wear neutral booties if you wanted to during this time of year. It is all about transitioning from summer to fall by mixing and matching and sticking to the neutrals for an effortless look.
