The past couple of days here in Houston we have had snow/ice days and basically the whole city has shut down. That is perfectly ok with me as I have realized that I don’t particularly care for the cold weather and I especially won’t get behind a car and start driving in it. There is something about it being in that in between stage where it is kind of drizzling, but not full blown Colorado weather that I just don’t like. Besides the fact that I have been in my pajamas and sweatpants for 2 days, it was nice to finally be able to put some real clothes on and get back into the office. One of the things that I struggle with when it is cold is looking cute even when you have about 5 layers on. Sometimes your clothes can seem bulky and there are just way too many cute sundresses in the summertime. Speaking of summer this weather is making me want to go back to Cabo so bad! Even though we have just a little longer until Spring weather, you can still dress cute in the winter time and look trendy at the same time. I think the material makes the difference in what you end up wearing, but it is all about your accessories that take your look to the next level.

As long as you have warm fabric you can mix and match and make a trendy winter outfit. This sweater dress is one that I have had for a very long time and I get so much use out of it every year. When paired with this balloon sleeve cardigan that I recently bought, this look brings the warmth and style all together. It is all about accessories during the winter months that I honestly like better than big cozy sweaters. You have to have knee high boots and they are the most stylish items and they keep your legs warm throughout the weather changes. I like to wear mine with jeans, dressy shorts, skirts and dresses. Everyone should have a pair of knee high boots in their closet. Also a big floppy hat is another staple for this time of year. I wear mine everywhere from running errands to grabbing brunch with the girls. I love this winter accessory to dress up any outfit. What are some of your favorite trendy winter outfit pieces?
