Happy Wednesday and Ash Wednesday to all my fellow Catholics! This week has surprisingly gone by fast and I have been able to get a lot done. I am almost fully packed and looking forward to my trip in the morning to New York. It is supposed to be extremely cold, but I still can’t wait! Jackets and sweaters are one of the number one item that I will be packing in my suitcase. Sometimes when it’s cold I find it hard to dress cute, but at the same time functional as well. I love wearing black and neutrals and mixing them up with a little color. There is something so classic about New York and the color black that always seems to work. In the spirit of Valentines Day I had to add a touch of red to my outfit. Shades of red worn dressed up in a dress, skirt or a casual look is the color to wear during this festive week.

Adding just a touch of red to any outfit can give it a festive look without being over the top. The latest blog posts I have done are about the extent of red in my closet. This is such a classic shade but I prefer wearing it in accessories like this slouchy clutch and these strappy heels. Carrying this mini cross body bag adds just the right amount of red to this outfit. I wear this combo of sweaters and flared pants all the time to work and will be wearing about the same look this weekend. Not only is red on my nails but will also be the color of choice for my bag for a great classy Valentines look.
