A classic white dress is something that every girl needs to have in her closet. Between the super high temperatures of the summer and since white is the official color of this time of year it is pretty much a staple. Over the years I have had white denim shorts, a white romper and my favorite which is just a classic white dress. As you can see here I have loved neutrals lately. They are just so easy and when the temperatures are as high as they have been there is no other color you really feel like wearing. Speaking of temperatures it was a nice change of weather to be in Chicago the past couple of days. I went for a work user conference forum and was able to explore a little bit too. I was thinking the temperatures would be around the 70’s but it is still the summer so it was pretty hot walking around. I brought my dependable long vest and walked about 20,000 steps on one day. It was such a great city with so much great architecture and food. I will be doing a post soon of my favorite places.

As it is getting more towards the summer months I have pretty much ditched the jeans in my closet even though I haven’t packed them away quite yet, and have leaned more towards lighter fabrics like I did in this post. Dresses though in lighter colors like this white are just way too classic to not love. When I was wearing this dress from Francesca’s I felt like Marilyn Monroe. It is so form fitting but also can be casual too. In the summer months whether it is going to a cook out or any summer night event a white dress is an easy decision to make. When layered with long necklaces it can give it a little boho vibe too. This would have been the perfect dress to wear to Father’s Day yesterday.
