Rose Wine Tasting Party

I am so excited to share with you all my rose wine tasting party that I hosted with my favorite girlfriends last weekend. This was the last official weekend in Summer, and I knew that I wanted to host an event like this. I had never done a wine tasting party before and definitely not a rose wine tasting party. Of course I have had tastings in Fredericksburg and in Napa, but never a blind wine tasting that I did with my friends, and never in the comfort of my own place. I bought 6 different rose wines at various price points and included some from Winc to have this fun event. Complete with a numbered burlap bag on each of the rose wines, a charcuterie board, florals and favors it was a great time! See all of my decor, food, and drinks below 🙂

Decor

I decided to do my own floral arrangements for this event. I bought some eucalyptus, roses, and other greenery to make 2 floral arrangements and to add some garland to the bar cart. The focal point for this event was the bar cart which comes in handy for so many events. You can really turn a bar cart into a place to display desserts or to display a fun sign and other decor. As it was the last official weekend in Summer, I had wanted to host this on my patio but it was still too hot to do this. Inside was still perfectly fine to do and we sat around the couch and on the floor by the coffee table. Changing out my letter board to add a fun saying is a simple way to add in some decor. I also added these fun balloons for a backdrop. It’s always a great idea to have an area that will serve as a photo backdrop for any event you have. These are an inexpensive way to add a party touch. Incorporating a little fun sign like this “Sip, Sip, Hooray” one was perfect for the little dessert table. I also had a print out that was perfect for the bar cart that had the instructions for the wine tasting. I always try to go on Etsy and get something printed and framed in my gold frame that I use for every event.

Food

I started the party at 6:30 pm because I wanted it to still be a little day light as well as have more substantial snacks since it was dinner time. When I go to a party I love the food selections, and dips and cheeses are always something that I gravitate towards. I wanted to have the focus be around a great charcuterie and cheese board. I planned 3 different meats, a mix of cheeses both soft and hard, olives, several jellies and mustard, nuts, crackers and fruit. This was a huge hit and will work for any type of event. Any time there is wine involved, a great cheese board is a must. I also got a great Margherita pizza from Trader Joe’s in addition to popcorn, hummus, and a watermelon/feta cheese salad. It is always great to have at least 1 appetizer for every 3 guests as a rule of thumb. I had 8 people total and had a little bit more than 3 appetizers. I used my table behind my couch as the dessert table and had glazed donuts, macarons, and a lemon meringue pie!

Drinks

Of course the main drink at this rose wine tasting party was the rose. I got a variety of 6 different rose bottles to have for the tasting. These ranged from $4-$24 a bottle. I got my 2 favorite ones from Winc where you can get a $22 discount + complimentary shipping, which comes out to 4 bottles of wine for less than $40 by clicking here. This was the best decision to have at this rose tasting party because not only do they have all different types of wine and you can find your favorite by completing a quiz, they are also inexpensive. The fact that they deliver as well made it so worth it when you are hosting something. I used the wines for the blind wine tasting by covering them in these burlap bags that were numbered. We had some wine tasting cards where we would vote on the wines by their look, taste, smell, finish, and overall rating. This was so much fun to do and to see which ones were everyone’s favorites. While the other rose wines were chilling I added some rose petals into a tub for a little bit of cute decor too. I also had a pitcher filled with water and put some fresh strawberries in it. I wanted to make sure everyone fueled up on water before and during the tasting. If you really want to do a great tasting, then also have a little pitcher for your “dumper” wines if there are any between tastings, to save on not using 6 glasses per person.

This was such a fun time to hang out with my girlfriends and enjoy a little bit of rose wine before ending the Summer. I always like to host something with my girls whether it is a Galentines Brunch or a pizza night, these memories are so special. Just like when we were little, I always like to have a party favor. This event I had everyone take home a rose face mask and a little rose wine can that was so yummy. A little added touch that they will for sure use later. I hope you are able to re-create this event to enjoy it soon with your girls. I can see a red wine tasting coming soon 😉
