Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018-Work Wear Picks

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018: Work Wear Picks

Have you all been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet? All of my items have officially come in that I ordered and I could not be more excited. As I have discussed multiple times on social media, there are some items that have been my favorites so far in the sale, and some that I had to immediately return because the color did not look as good in person as it did online. I highlighted everything that I had bought so far in last week’s post here, but there were a few items that just came in too. If you are like me and work full time, then you know how important items are for work as well. I know we all find ourselves wanting to only buy cute items that we can wear on the weekends, but these work staples are an even better investment. I mean how long are you usually at work during your week? Investing in some great pieces that don’t have to cost that much is key to a capsule wardrobe. Sometimes these options can be so boring and if you work in a conservative environment like mine, then it can sometimes be extra challenging. These pieces do not have to be boring and it is always nice to mix and match so you can have a work wardrobe that is filled with basics and trendy items. Below have been some of my favorite picks so far in the sale and items that I would highly recommend getting for work wear.

  • I was able to wear this sweater last week to work and I got so many compliments on it. Not only are the color options amazing, but the sleeves can also be zipped off to double as a sleeveless sweater too. This is genius in my mind! I wore this on casual Friday with jeans, but can also see me wearing it with some dress pants or a pencil skirt.
  • This dress is anything but basic. The floral, colors, ruffles and bow tie cover all of the fun pieces and more! The length is perfect for a corporate environment, and if you pair it with some mules like I did above then it can go straight from work to happy hour.
  • I find myself wearing mules or flats everyday to work. These shoes are great because they have a sling back and are better for walking around the office. I can’t stand heels at work, and these are just elegant enough without the extra foot pain. They come in other colors too that would go well from now up until winter time.
  • Every boss lady needs a great tote to carry to work. I normally carry my laptop, chargers, notebook, planner, pens and a lot of other things in mine. I am obsessed with this tote and the fun mauve and taupe color it comes in. The design is clean and professional and looks like it costs hundreds of dollars. The fact that it is on sale for under $45 is amazing!
  • If you are anything like me then your office is freezing 99% of the time. It doesn’t matter if it is 100 degrees outside, it still feels like an ice cube inside. I constantly have to have a cardigan with me at all times. I love this cardigan because of the length, how it comes in a million colors, and it has pockets. Lately if something doesn’t have pockets, then I don’t like it as much!
  • A classic black sheath dress is always a work wear staple. This is one of my favorite brands for dresses because of the great quality and the various options and styles that they carry. I love the sleeve length that can be worn now and in the winter with a trench coat.
  • I have this ruffle blouse and it has been my favorite all around basic top to wear to work. I wore it this week with a blazer and then wore it with jeans afterwards for happy hour. You can’t go wrong with a top like this that can go with so many different looks.
  • These pants are the essential work pants to wear 24/7. They hit right at a good length and are made well for a classic look. You can never have too many pairs of black pants either because they go with everything. These can be worn with heels or flats depending on your preference.
  • A flowy blouse has so many different ways to pair it for work. I have worn this top already twice to work and want to buy it in every color and print. I went with the classic black and have paired it with slacks and then jeans on a casual day. This can be worn with ripped skinnies and wedges for a fun date night too.
  • When I spotted this dress not only did the color make me smile, but the ruffle hem and the bell sleeves did too. It has some vintage inspired glamour and reminds me of a dress that Princess Kate would wear. I can’t wait to wear this dress to work and in the winter with some black tights.
  • I have these in the wedges and the flats look even cuter. Leather shoes with a classic bow are the best choice for footwear in the office. The nude color is my favorite option, but they also have them in lots of other colors and prints too.
  • This button down blouse is as classic as it can get in the office. I love a white classic button down blouse and have learned to dress them down even on the weekends too with ripped skinnies and tennis shoes. A girl can never have too many and this is an amazing sale item.

These are my favorite picks for work from the sale for this year. All of these picks will take you from year after year because they are classics, great quality, and an even better price right now. Make sure to stock up on these type of items before the sale ends! If you have any questions on the fit or have any favorites that I missed, make sure to let me know in the comments below.
