Hi everyone! Does it seem like this Texas weather needs to make it’s mind up or is it just me? I was in Dallas over the weekend visiting some friends and it was 38! Yesterday it was gorgeous here and I keep thinking what is going on with this funky weather changes lately? I just want it to feel like Spring already so that I can wear all of the fun wedges and cute dresses. This outfit is a lot like the weather currently that we have in Texas. It is a little crisp meets edgy. As you know I like to mix styles together like I did in this ladylike edge post. It is so fun to be able to mix a trendy style with a more classic style for a fun new look. This is the best part of having a range of options in your wardrobe. If you have been following along on social media you know that I have been participating in Emily Ley’s #ruthlessdeclutterchallenge. I love her and have had her planners for years, and just recently one of her books. In the challenge one of the hard areas for me to declutter and simplify has been my closet area. There are so many items that I say “well I will wear that” or “that’s a fun piece!” Chances are you won’t ever wear them and it is best to just get rid of them. These jeans I have been able to keep because I do pair them with classic tops.

I have had them for over a year as I trended them up majorly when I paired them with a velvet top. I think with pieces like this you have to do a little balance with edgy and crisp essentials. This top I have been wearing to work non stop because it is such a nice classic white blouse. The billowy statement sleeves and the tie around the collar are what set it apart in my opinion. I could wear this top with some ripped skinnies for an even more crisp meets edgy look. Do you have any pieces like this that you never thought to pair together? Look through your closet this week and I challenge you to come up with new outfits that you would never have worn together.
