Easy Fall Decor

Easy Fall Decor

Happy November everyone! I can’t believe there are only 2 more months left of this year which is crazy. Time has really been flying by and I have been so busy this last month. The fall is always one of my favorite seasons and has some of my favorite holidays, of course being Halloween and I do love Thanksgiving as well. I am not one for a whole lot of pumpkin flavored items unless it is candles and pumpkin lattes, but I do love to decorate with little pumpkins around. I know that some people have started to put their Christmas decorations out already, but I am one that leaves their pumpkins and even the little Hocus Pocus decor out until after Thanksgiving. We always go to my parents house for Thanksgiving, so if I can have all of the pumpkins at my place for 2 months out of the year, I am going to enjoy it as best as I can. I am also one that doesn’t like a whole lot of knick knacks unless they are placed well and go with the overall flow. This is my first year in my new place and I wanted the various signs or items to go with the overall theme in this living space which is a mix between traditional, farm house and modern glam. Trying to incorporate some pumpkins here and there with a couple of cute signs is all you need to bring fall into your home. It is more than just serving pieces, it is creating a cozy environment for the last couple of months in the year.

How to Create Easy Fall Decor For Your Home

  • Add Pumpkins Throughout: This is one idea that I feel like is the easiest and most festive way to get into the fall spirit. If you haven’t had any pumpkins out and are going to have visitors for Thanksgiving, I would buy some in various sizes, colors, and material and spread them throughout the house. I decided to put some in our living room corner that were larger pumpkins next to our floor length mirror. I also put some strategically on top of books on the coffee table and other tables where I had picture frames and knick knacks before. You can never have too many pumpkins, and my favorite are these adorable velvet pumpkins.
  • Have a Fun Doormat: There are so many fun doormats that are out there right now, and I personally would love to have them all. This is an easy change that can make a great difference throughout this holiday season. I have seen a lot that say “Hey Pumpkin” but if you are like me and love Hocus Pocus, then you had to get this fun door mat. A door mat is the first thing people see when they enter into your home and can be a fun way to celebrate fall.
  • Don’t Forget About Outside: If you don’t have a front porch like me, then you can still bring the fall decor outside as well. I have a bar cart that is on my patio and I love to decorate it depending on the season. Adding a pumpkin and keeping the colors neutral is an easy way to keep the decor flowing throughout.
  • It’s All About the Signs: Little wooden signs and letter boards are such a cute way to change out and switch decor throughout the seasons. I love that these homemade signs are very trendy right now and have the cutest sayings on them. I have about 4 of these that I have put out for this fall and they bring the whole decor together. Letter boards are also great to have because you can change them for every event. Remember the saying I did for my 90’s party?
  • Incorporate Some Copper: Copper mugs just remind me of a crisp fall night and drinking a Moscow mule! I got some of these mugs a couple of years ago and think that they bring in the fall decor. It is nice to be able to set these out and put away your summer glasses. Drinkware and dressing up a bar cart if you have one is key because that is where all of the entertaining for your guests come into play. Having this changed out by season if you have a couple of rotating entertaining ware is a quick swap.
  • Change Out Your Throw Pillows: I always like to add a cute little holiday themed throw pillow during this time of year. Pillows and even different throw blankets in more warm colors and fabrics bring that fall season together. It is an easy way to change it up for the season. I am obsessed with this little gingham pumpkin pillow that my friend got me for my birthday. It is the perfect little touch to our chair.
  • Add Yummy Scents: Like I mentioned above, the only pumpkin flavored thing I like really is candles or the pumpkin spice latte. I did make some pumpkin chili recently, but pumpkin has to come in small doses for me. Adding some candles like one that we have that is pumpkin vanilla burning or a reed diffuser will let the season come into your home without really changing that much up. Scents to me can do even more wonders than decor 🙂

Decorating for the fall season can be easy, and adding just a few of these touches will make your home just a little more festive. If you are having friends or family over for Thanksgiving or just want to get the last bit of  the holidays into your home, these are simple ways to bring it to life. I hope you all enjoy the rest of this November month, and if you are like me then you will try to keep your fall decor out as long as possible.
