TGIF!!! Seriously though this week was barely creeping along and I thought it was never going to end. Luckily the weather here in Houston has been so nice, you can tell Spring is almost here. Yesterday I took a walk and it was 88 degrees! A little different from other parts of the US right now, and probably especially different from New York. This look was from NYFW day two. I went to shows on the first two days and one more on the last day. During fashion week the looks on the runway are always almost a year ahead. This was my second year to go to fashion week in February. I always try to dress a little springy, but trying to keep warm too. I feel like the dress code can be a struggle sometimes because in September it is extremely hot there, but you are trying to look extra trendy by wearing the next seasons looks. It is always opposite weather wise of the fashion you are trying to rock. This look I was trying to stand out with color of course. I don’t know if you could tell but I was freezing here. We would shoot real quick after the shows and then try to hurry to get in a cab right after.

This top that I bought is one that I will wear plenty of times this upcoming Spring. With the weather how it is here I can almost wear it with some cut off denim shorts already. I love the stripes and fun colors in this sweater. This is the second top I have bought with stripes and bright colors and they are easily one of my two favorite tops. They can be so fun and add color to any outfit. When I wore it with my favorite feather stole here it was even more amazing. If you want to make a statement and stay warm and fashionable, you have got to have one of these in your wardrobe. This past winter was all about the colored fur and feathers and I don’t think it is going anywhere anytime soon. Speaking of color if you did not see my post this week on the Shopbop sale, you need to hurry because it ends tomorrow and there are some amazing finds that are also super colorful!

If you are in Houston I would love for you to come to Cheeky Vintage on Tuesday night March 8th from 6-8 pm as I am on the host committee for their Spring/Summer launch party that is inspired by Palm Springs. There will be cocktails, snacks and lots of fun!
