Even though I do not currently have a significant other, I do love Valentines Day. I am a hopeless romantic and love all of the hearts and especially the pink. Each year I try to dress up in some pink  and plan something, even if it is just watching a classic movie. I think this holiday is all about celebrating the ones you love in your life. That could mean hanging out with your siblings or your girlfriends. These are the girls that know you the best and I personally always have a blast when hanging with them. A couple of us are still single, which means we for sure get to hang together on this holiday. These are some of my favorite Valentines Day ideas with your girlfriends to do.

• Host a Galentines Brunch: I hosted this Galentines brunch last year, and it was one of my favorite parties that I have ever thrown. It was so fun to get everyone wearing red and pink and enjoying our favorite meal of the week. We had a mimosa bar, sweets, and plenty of laughs. I made this event very girly for this time of year and we had such a fun time. You can go all out or just have some quick breakfast foods, champagne, and turn on your favorite chick flicks in the background.
• Watch A Chick Flick: This could involve going out to the movies and seeing a new movie like “Isn’t it Romantic” or staying in and watching a classic. I had talked about going to a fancy movie theater and seeing this new movie, but there are also so many classics like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days that I could watch over and over again. Check your area if they are showing any movies outdoors, or showing classics at your local theater. This is also a great way to watch your favorite movie instead. Also, they have way better popcorn at the movie theater anyway.
• Go to a Speed Dating Event: If your girlfriends are up for it, then this is a very non traditional way to celebrate Valentines Day with your girlfriends. I just saw a fun speed dating event that is happening here in Houston at one of my favorite bars, that I might just have to go and drag my friends to. I have never done anything like this before, but it could be fun. Doing spontaneous events like this will have you and your girls laughing in no time. Who knows, you also could meet Mr. Right!
• Take a Cooking Class: I have done a sushi making class, but never a traditional cooking class before. This could be so fun especially if dessert was on the menu. I had talked about this a couple of years ago on date ideas, and still would love to do this. My roommate and I are always looking for great new recipes to make so I think this would be perfect. A lot of places also serve wine when you are cooking, which makes the experience 10 times better.
• Dine Fancy: Sometimes you just want to have those nights with your girlfriends where you dress up and go to that boujee restaurant you have been dying to go to. I know this is one of the most fun times I have with my friends. I love having a long night at a great restaurant where you stay and linger for hours enjoying great food and even better company.
• Get a Pedicure: If you are like me then this is a regular occurrence that happens at least monthly. I always find it much more fun when you go get a pedicure with your girlfriends though. A lot of the times I feel so relaxed that I am always dozing off in the chair, but having your girlfriends there gives you some laughs to keep the relaxing experience even better. They serve bubbly almost at every salon now too, so we know that is always a plus!
• Try a New Workout: We all know that I love reformer pilates, but find a new workout that you have never done before. I have been wanting to try those fitness pole dancing classes. I feel like I would be laughing the whole time, but this would be a really fun day. An event like Valentines with your girlfriends would be perfect for trying something like this out.

No matter what you choose to do with your girlfriends during Valentines Day, I recommend at least doing one of these things. It is so important to always have your girl time no matter where you currently are in life. Everyone’s schedules are so different, but at least having an annual get together with your girls is so much fun and can be an annual tradition.
