California Dreaming

I am back in Houston and I can’t stop California dreaming. If you saw on social media then you know that I had an absolute blast when I was there this past weekend. We went to LA first and then Palm Springs for the remainder of our little blogger getaway. I can’t wait to show you my travel guide and all of the fun places that we went to while we were there. The temperatures were extremely hot in Palm Springs, like 114 degrees hot. With temperatures like this, I packed mainly bright colors and some pieces that were breathable as I shopped and did some eating around the city. The first day we went to LA where we stayed at the cutest little hotel that is pictured here, The Carlyle Inn. When I saw the fun umbrellas outdoors and the table and chairs, I knew that this would be the perfect photo opportunity. There is something so classic about black and white that you seriously can’t go wrong with. Everything was decked out in black and white with this hotel with a pop of color including the lobby. I love having little themes and especially for hotels.

Speaking of themes, my theme for my trip had to have been crop tops and floral. I think it was the weather where I physically had to wear little sets like this to keep from not burning up. Also these pieces are everywhere in the stores right now for summer, and I have been loving them ever since I started wearing them last summer here. One thing that I love about 2 piece sets is that you can mix and match with them and don’t have to always wear them together. I have worn this set with skinny jeans and then with a black tank top. My favorite thing about this 2 piece set that I am wearing is the floral pattern. I can see myself wearing this with a leather jacket in the fall and some booties. The top is extra girly with the ruffles and the little tie in the front. Not to mention the price tag is super affordable which always makes clothes that much better right?! I feel like I will be getting more 2 pieces before the summer is over to keep this California dreaming going strong long after I am back from vacation.
