I can’t believe another year is gone. If you are like me then this is the first official week back into work and back on the grind. It is hard to say goodbye to 2019, but a lot of lessons were learned and gained as I went through in this post. As you reflect back on the year and what worked and what didn’t work, I always have to mentally think about making room for more intentional items. It is sometimes hard to not get wrapped up in stuff that 5 years or even 5 days from now, will not matter in the end. One thing that I like to do for this is to stay organized and write down all of your to-do’s but your thoughts as well. This helps to put into perspective going into the new year what your new sparkle is going to be. One of the things I always try to do by staying organized is to also go through my closet and figure out what needs to stay and what needs to go.

I have mentioned before that I typically do the one in and one out rule, which is where I have saved on not having to buy additional hangers as well. A lot of times people cram their clothes so tightly in and they end up wearing the same items throughout the year anyway. Speaking of the same thing is this sequin jacket that I got last year. During the holidays I am all about the sparkle and sequins, and wish that I could wear it all year long. This is one of those pieces that I have hanging in my closet next to my favorite sequined top and sequined dress. There is something so fun about some sparkle hanging in your closet that makes you want to have a new fresh outlook on the day. It makes a fun statement that makes you want to be creative and put your own spin on the day. Anything that can put a smile on your face especially in the morning when you are trying to figure out what to wear is just so nice to have in the new year.
